According to a report published by Herana News Agnecy, dozens of contract workers in the Taj Factory in Qazvin staged a gathering outside the company in protest to being expelled and to announce their demands.
Based on reports from state-run news agencies, most of the workers had 14 to 19 years of experience in the Taj factories.
“The Qazvin Taj factories with 960 workers are continuously producing, and all its products are sold,” one factory employer said. “Expelling workers in this timing is taking place with no economic or management pretexts.”
This report indicates that expelled workers are scheduling to continue with their protest gathering in the coming days to reach their demands.
On the other hand, one state-run media wrote: “Currently, around 6 thousand employees who are working in Qazvin Provinces’ production units have not received their wages range from 1 month, to the last 38 months which in average means these 6 thousand workers have not received their salaries for the past 6 months. Therefore, due to the fact that their income has literally reached zero, they are facing serious problems in their daily lives, economically and socially.”
According to this same report, “Based on the statistics, 50 production units in Qazvin Province are facing serious problems in paying their worker’s salaries.”
