The residents of a number of villages near the city of Orumieh, northwestern Iran, gathered outside this city’s cement factory protesting authorities’ inattention to the people’s well-being.
“The residents of a number of villages protested the dirt and dust resulting from the Orumieh Cement Factory chimney and particles streaming into the air,” state-run Jomhuri Eslami daily wrote. “This dirt and dust lies on the local residents’ agricultural fields located near the factory.”
