Two thousands residents of the village of Kashf near Mashhad (NE Iran) staged a protest gathering demanding the problems of these villagers to be resolved. A number of these villagers gathered on Saturday blocking 3 roads from the villages of Kashf, Arvand and Firizi to the city of Mashhad and also protested outside the office of the so-called Kashf Village Islamic Council.
These villagers say the village council has gathered $20 to $30 from each family to clean-up the village’s garbage yet no measure has been taken so far.
The villagers continue to complain that the locals’ also have serious problems with very low quality drinking water despite the fact the so-called council demands very high monthly water bills. The locals say there are many occasions when water is completely cut off due to the illegal construction of villas near the city of Mashhad.
