Washington will continue targeting Iran’s support for its affiliated extremist groups despite the nuclear agreement, a senior US Treasury Department official said on Wednesday, August 5th.
Adam Szubin, the Treasury Department’s acting under secretary for terrorism and financial intelligence said Iran needs 6 to 9 months to carry out the agreement’s binding measures to enjoy initial sanctions relief, Reuters reported.
Szubin made these remark in a Senate Finance Committee hearing.
Various countries in the region are concerned of very possible increasing Iranian meddling on their soil following the sanctions relief.
