“Republic of Execution, get lost from this city” – This was the slogan chanted by thousands of Iranian Kurds and Iraqi intellectuals outside Iran’s consulate in the city of Irbil in Iraqi Kurdistan. The demonstrators chanted anti-government slogans and commemorated the memories of their recent martyrs Habibollah Golpari-pour, Reza Ismaeeli and Shirku Mo’arefi , the Kurdish political prisoners who were executed in Iran in recent weeks.
