Tehran uprising intensifies mullahs’ crisis, divides

Uprisings and protests throughout Tehran have intensified the mullahs’ crisis and divides at the most senior ranks of the regime.
The regime’s economic crisis has reached a threatening point and if measures are not taken, this situation will reach a point of no return, the state-run Jomhuri Islami daily, said to express Rafsanjani’s viewpoints, wrote in its editorial.
Wednesday’s unrest in Tehran’s Bazaar and money exchange stores in central Tehran is not a phenomenon that one can set aside with a few harsh words, the editorial continued. By placing the blame of this incident on various other parties, inside or outside Iran, will not resolve the problem. Such measures intend to erase the problem, not face the facts. If we intend to understand the facts, we must resolve the problem without deceiving ourselves, this daily added.
The uncontrolled increase of prices after the surge in currency rates minute by minute, which directly affects people’s lives and especially the poor, has now reached a dangerous and undeniable status, the editorial continues.
Denying these facts and not considering its penalties will not only fail in preventing these consequences, in fact it will intensify its effects and bring it to an uncontrollable state, the daily added.
This state-run daily also described Ahmadinejad’s faction as the element behind the current economic crisis and reiterated, now that there is no doubt in the government’s inability to resolve the economic crisis, administrative officials must be obligated to reconsider their measures.
