Excerpts of the statement released by Dr. Mas’ab al-Tahan al-Naeimi, head of the al-Naeim Tribe in Syria and Levant
The al-Naeim Tribe Council in Syria and Levant welcomes the meeting between Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, and Mr. Ahmad Jarba, President of the Syrian National Coalition and Syrian opposition, describing this as a strategic step towards victory for the Syrian revolution and a major step towards establishing a united front against dictatorship and religious fundamentalism in the region.
The council believes this meeting will strengthen joint coordination and act as a start of talks between joint plans, in the interests of the region’s governments and people.
The people of Syria and Iran are fighting in a united front against a joint enemy, both fighting for freedom in their countries, the statement reads.
