Significant protests, strikes reported across Iran

Tehran
Various workers and employees of the Paksan Company, being the biggest producer of hygiene products in Tehran, went on strike protesting their low wages. The striking workers and employees said on Thursday, July 31st, they will not return to work until their wages are raised.


Isfahan
Retired Isfahan steel mill workers on Saturday, August 3rd, held a rally along with their families outside the regime’s retired workers office in this city, protesting their delayed pensions. One of the protesting retired workers said the government sends money to Syria and Iraq while Iranians must beg for their basic daily needs.


Kurdistan
More than 260 workers of the Kulheim Company in Iran Kurdistan rallied outside the company office in Sanadaj, protesting the company officials’ intention to lay off hundreds of workers from this company.


Isfahan
A group of women in Isfahan staged a gathering on Monday, August 4th, outside the regime’s governorate office protesting shortages of city supplies in their residential areas.
The strike launched by more than half of Isfahan’s gold retailers continued on Monday, August 4th, with the storeowners going on strike protesting tax extortions imposed by the Iranian regime. This strike forced regime officials to hold a joint session with the union of these retailers to review the status quo.
Workers also in Isfahan, especially the Abshar agricultural region, are protesting the water wells of this region drying up and their produce being destroyed. This rally was held outside the region’s water organization in which the farmers are very angry over the status of agriculture and provision of water.
