State Department Deputy Spokesman Tom Casey in his daily briefing on Mar. 8, asserted that the unilateral US sanctions along with international sanctions imposed by the Security Council against Iran reduces Iran’s ability to attract foreign investment and trade with other countries.
He added that sanctions in the context of UN Chapter 7 resolutions would have serious consequences and it is clear that the Iranian regime cannot continue its trade as in the past. The sanctions target those involved directly and actively in the nuclear program and those who help the terrorist activities and groups.
