
INTV, 17 Oct 2013 – The following text is a report of the last nearly ten days of the uprising of the residents of the major southern Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas in Hormozgan Province.
September 8th: On this day widespread gatherings were held by the people against the regime officials, with people calling for the governor to step down.
September 9th: Once again hundreds of people gathered outside the Hormozgan Provincial Office with more people joining their ranks. This was while the regime’s repressive forces were present in more numbers than the previous day, yet they didn’t dare show any reaction to the people’s protests.
September 10th: On the afternoon of Thursday nearly 800 people staged a gathering outside the regime’s governorate office in Bandar Abbas.
September 11th: On this Friday the people of Bandar Abbas used the opportunity of the regime’s sham Friday prayers and staged a demonstration.
September 12th: Over a thousand people, mostly consisting of women at the front lines, staged a gathering outside the former Hormozgan Province office chanting slogans against the regime.
September 13th: Over 800 angry people besieged the office of the regime’s state TV by chanting slogans and raising placards protesting the regime’s policies of censoring.
September 14th: On this afternoon people of Bandar Abbas staged their largest rally outside the regime’s state-run TV and radio stations office in this city, in a way that streets around the building were all taken over by the protesters who blocked any commuting.
September 15th: People of Bandar Abbas gathered at the city cemetery and in a coordinate measure all wore black and blue bracelets.

September 16th: The largest demonstration was staged on this Wednesday and the regime’s repressive forces, fearing the increasing rallies, clashed with the protesters in numerous areas. According to popular reports, dozens of people were arrested in these clashes. However, the families of those arrested immediately rallied outside the regime’s security centers and demanded their loved ones released. The people announced in addition to their daily gatherings until the unpopular plan to divide the province is revoked, every night at 9 pm they will gather on their roof tops for 15 minutes and cry “Allah o Akbar”.
