Protest gathering of Lamerd People against extortions by Rouhani’s government

A number of residents of Lamerd, Fars province staged a gathering on Dec. 28th to protest against lack of proper housing units, and lack of necessary safety equipment and controllers, and against extortions by the Iranian regime authorities.
A protesting worker said as it was promised by the authorities, Mehr Housing Complex was supposed to provide living quarters for homeless people, but since these houses have not been built according to safety regulations and are lacking proper insulation, the buildings have become a threat to people’s lives.
Another protester said “we had previously agreed to pay a monthly payment of one million Rials, but Rouhani’s government has assigned a 3-million-Rial monthly payment for us. Where are we going to get this kind of money?  With a monthly salary of 6 to 7 million Rials, which is not even enough to buy us bread, who would we be able to afford such money for just rent.”
