Police Helicopter crash kills five in Iran

Iranian state T.V. reported on March 29, that at least five people have been killed among them two commanders after a helicopter crashed near the Oushan Mountains in Iran’s northwestern province of East Azarbaijan.
According to a provincial official the incident took place Friday afternoon. The helicopter belonged to the provincial police.

The pilot, two co-pilots and commander of East Azarbaijan highway police, Neyazi and head of the SSF countermeasures in the province Jalali were all killed in the crash. The helicopter was on a mission to monitor highway traffic in the Varzeqan area. The helicopter crashed near Oushan Mountains in the vicinity of the city of Varzeqan, in the province of East Azarbaijan.
