Mullahs’ security forces imprison political activist in Evin Prison

On Sunday night, the Iranian regime’s State Security Forces attacked the home of political activist Mahdieh Golru and returned her to Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison. Based on incoming reports, Mahdieh Golru had provided a $150,000 pledge and gone on relief with another inmate by the name of Bahare Hedayat. However, SSF units attacked her house and returned her to Evin Prison. This is while prison officials had agreed with her returning to Evin Prison Monday morning.
As a college student studying economics, Mahdieh Golru was arrested on December 2nd, 2009 after security agents attacked her house. She was the former deputy of the Islamic Society of her college and a member of the Council of Defense of Education Rights. It should be noted that she had been arrested twice before, convicted in February 2010 to 2 years and 4 months in prison for “propaganda against the system” and “gathering with the intention to disrupt national security”.
