
Political prisoner Nasrin Sotoudeh wrote a letter saying the reason for her hunger strike was to protest family punishments, including those imposed on her own.
“I hope family punishments will be eliminated from the policies of threats and pressures,” she added.
Protesting the regime’s treatment of her family Sotoudeh went on hunger strike for 49 days, leading to widespread international protests forcing the mullahs’ regime to back down and accept her demands.
