An Iranian diplomat has been expelled by the Republic of Azerbaijan. According to reports published by Azerbaijan press, this is the sixth Iranian diplomat expelled from this country during the past year. The diplomat had a public service agent passport.
State-run media inside wrote Baku has expelled the sixth Iranian diplomat during the past 12 months, continuing its drive to close down Iranian entities in this country. Despite claiming to normalize relations, in an unfriendly measure Azerbaijan refused to extend the one-year visa of Khamenei’s envoy in Baku, giving him only a six-month long stay permit, the mullahs’ media outlets wrote in agony.
Mehmanparast, the mullahs’ foreign ministry spokesman said in a press conference, officials of our neighboring countries including Azerbaijan must act wisely.
