Labor protests increasing in various Iran cities

Saghez:
Construction workers of the so-called ‘Mehr Housing’ project in the town of Saghez in Kurdistan Province staged a gathering on Thursday, January 23rd, protesting not receiving their delayed salaries. In their protests they inflicted damages to the apartments built by the government.


Behbahan:
The strike of the hardworking Behbahan municipality laborers surpassed its second week. The workers are protesting the fact that they haven’t received their paychecks, and emphasizing they will continue this rally until all their demands are reached.


Isfahan:
The mullahs’ intelligence and security agents transferred to prison three of the protesting Poly Acryl Company workers. The names of these protesting workers are Javad Lotfi, Abass Haghighi and Ahmad Saberi.


Tehran:
Following the suicide of a young store owner in Tehran’s metro on January 18th, taking place under inhumane pressures imposed by the regime’s criminal police officers, a number of people staged a protest gathering outside the regime’s municipality office.


Zanjan:
Workers of the Zanjan Lead and Zinc Factory rallied outside the regime governorate office protesting the factory closure and being laid off from work. These workers are saying the regime has closed down this factory in order to raise the prices of the land around the area belonging to senior officials.
