Kuwait-based Al-Seyassah daily in Kuwait reported on Tuesday, September 8th:
Amidst the military developments in Yemen, a senior member of the Sadrists current in Iraq said Iran had requested from Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani to issue a jihad fatwa in Yemen, similar to the decree he issued in Iraq to confront ISIS. However, Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani not only has no such viewpoint, but he completely ignored the request because such a fatwa would be the equivalent of declaring sectarian war in the region.
This source said Iran has transferred Asaeb, Badr and Iraqi Hezbollah militia members to Iran to have them dispatched to Yemen as Tehran is extremely concerned of the fall of Sana’a, capital of Yemen.
