The Iranian regime’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement indicating its anger over the publication of the US State Department annual human rights violations report in Iran.
“The US State Department report on Iran is mainly founded on baseless information from groups opposing the Islamic republic and aimed at the US government’s political intentions,” the statement reads.
The US State Department annual report cites flagrant and systematic human rights violations in Iran, including the violation of Internet freedoms, right to assembly, the rights of women, religious and ethnic minorities, summary executions and imposing torture and rape during detention.
