An Iranian woman by the name of Ghonche Ghavami, arrested during a recent volleyball match between Iran and Italy (played on June 20th, 2014), remains behind bars. Police and security forces prevented women from attending this volleyball match, arresting a number of them, including Ghonche Ghavami, who sought to enter the volleyball stadium.
After being released on June 20th she was arrested again on June 30th and held in solitary confinement for 41 days. However, while the interrogation ended a few days ago her sentence was extended for another 2 months.
