A woman laborer formerly working in the Fantasy Bread Workshop in the city of Mashhad committed suicide and self-immolated on 8:30pm Sunday, July 12th after fierce disputes with her employers. The flame was immediately contained by people in the area and transferred to an emergency hospital.
Suicide and self-immolation amongst workers, especially women in Iran under the increasing crackdown pressures imposed by the regime, is increasing especially under Hassan Rouhani’s watch. State-run media outlets have provided less news coverage for this incident, as many other such cases.
This includes an incident in mid-May when a 27-year old factory worker in Tehran self-immolated protesting being expelled from work. This worker had a 6-year old child.

From March 2014 more than 1,437 people committed suicide in Iran. Of this number 985 were men and 452 were women. The regime’s Forensics Organization announced on 8 September 2014 the number of suicides from March to June had increased in comparison to the same period the year before.
3,125 people lost their lives in suicide incidents from March to December 2013, according to disclosed statistics, of which 982 were women and 2,143 were men.
The increase in suicides is so horrific that the state-run daily ‘Mardom Salari’ reported back on February 17th citing suicide rates across the globe wrote: “These scholars are mistaking and they have not counted the number of suicides resulting from unemployment in Iran during the past 12 years. Otherwise, we may have hundreds and even thousands of suicide cases due to unemployment.”
The escalating trend of suicides, with an increase in poverty and unemployment across Iran, are directly related to the Iranian regime’s plundering policies adopted by senior officials. This increase under Rouhani shows how the myth of ‘trust and hope’, preached by Rouhani, has been nothing but a hoax presented by this devious mullah.
