Al Arabiya TV, 8 Oct 2012 – Iraqi Vice President Dr. Tareq Al-Hashemi, currently in Turkey, said Iran is sending many times more through the ground to Syria than it is through the air. He stressed the inspections of Iranian airplanes in Iraq are a fabricated measure.
“Random inspections are a fabricated measure based on agreements between Iraq and Iran to bring down airplanes carrying medicine and humanitarian assistance, and turning their backs on planes carrying weapons and ammunitions to kill the Syrian people,” Al-Hashemi said.
“This is the issue the international community must take into consideration and the other aspect is that after focusing on air traffic and air flights, then the focus will be on ground traffic,” he added.
“Today, the path between Zurbatiya and Karbala and al-Walid has become a permanent path from Iran to Syria for vehicles that go uninspected,” the Iraqi VP concluded.
