Iran’s director general of the Water & Sewage Company announced the details of water prices being increased by Hassan Rouhani and his cabinet. These measures have been imposed since September 23rd of this year.
“Based on a decision made by the Economy Council 52% customers across the country will experience a 10% increase in water prices,” announced Hamid Reza Janbaz on Monday.
“10,000 rial subscriptions, previously cancelled, will be launched once again,” he said. This amount is less than 30 cents.
Alireza Daemi, Minister of Energy in Hassan Rouhani’s cabinet announced the increase in water prices by 10 to 30%. He claimed the 30% increase belongs to customers who have higher than average water consumption.
