Saturday, February 20, 2016 marks the 21st day of hunger strike by Mohammad Ali Taheri, a prisoner of conscious in the notorious Tehran Evin Prison. Taheri had begun his unlimited hunger strike on January 30 until he is unconditionally released after serving his term of 5 years behind bars.
It is worth noting that Mohammad Ali Taheri went on a dry hunger strike, meaning absolutely no drink and no food, on February 7, leading to his hospitalization outside of prison.
He was then returned to Evin Prison after merely three days and once again restarted a normal hunger strike.
