As the days of Mohammad Ali Taheri’s hunger strike surpasses 48 days, Azardokht Taheri, his sister, has begun protesting outside the United Nations headquarters in New York to gather signatures for his release.
Prior to this the mother of this prisoner of conscience had travelled to the cities of Montreal and Ottawa. According to those close to Ms. Taheri due to her old age and illness she is unable to take part in a sit-in protest and asked her daughter to be the voice of her innocent brother.
