State military forces pursued the regime’s plans in Kurdish areas in cementing an intense security atmosphere in the city of Ashnaviye in West Azerbaijan Province, in northwestern Iran. The Revolutionary Guards erected a number of checkpoints on the Ashnaviye-Urumieh road in which local IRGC units stop people’s vehicles and even body-search the passengers. Military vehicles are constantly seen patrolling roads across the city of Ashnaviye.
From some time ago the IRGC has stationed its units with heavy equipment and artillery units, accompanied by with semi-heavy forces along the borders in this city.
