A female social and political activist has been sentenced to 7½ years behind bars. Maryam was arrested in November 2014 for 17 days by Revolutionary Guards security forces.
Maryam is currently sentenced on charges of assembly and collusion with the intention to disrupt national security. The so-called courts in Iran also issued a ruling banning her for two years from any membership in any parties, and any presence in gatherings and activities in the media and cyberspace.
