Iran: Internet activist sentenced to jail

Mi’ad Ahmadi, a resident of Sanandaj in western Iran, was convicted for his Facebook activities. Ahmadi is an architecture student in Sanandaj Open University. He received his ruling from the 4th branch of this court in this city and he is charged with cooperating with Kurdish parties, insulting Khomeini and measures against the state. He has been sentenced to 5 years in prison and fined 50 million rials. (NCRI – 8 July 2014)
