The so-called revolution court in the city of Urumieh sentenced 5 Bahaii women to a total of 162 months behind bars on charges of propaganda against the state, holding gatherings and collusion. Based on this ruling Madams Farahnaz Moghadam and Gisu Sheikh Abadi each received 6 years in prison, and Neda Forsatipour, Nushin Mithaghi and Soheila Aghdasi each received 6 months behind bars.
The charges of Farahnaz Moghadam and Gisu Sheikh Abadi are “propaganda in support of Bahaiis” and “propaganda against the state” through holding periodical propaganda classes in their homes, and propaganda for children and recruiting Muslims. Less than two weeks have been provided for these 5 Bahaii citizens to request appeal on their sentences. (Kordpa – July 7, 2014)
