Iran: Gas stations in the southern city of Bandar-Abbas besieged by the suppressive forces

Fearing popular unrest and another uprising in the country, Iran’s suppressive forces besieged gas stations in various parts of the city of Bandar Abbas, southern Iran. The suppressive forces tried to prevent another unrest in the country similar to the unrest in Mahabad last month which caused embarrassment for the regime and heavy losses to the state, after a young woman killed herself to avoid an assault by an intelligence agent who tried to abuse her in a hotel she used to work.
This time the regime prepared itself prior to the announcement of the increase in fuel prices which anticipated would have repercussion from people.
Iranians rely on subsidies to survive since a large portion of the society live under the poverty line.
