A group of impoverished fishermen at Asalouyeh fish market, southern Iran protested on Thursday Jan 22nd against high cost of taxes and lack of proper places and facilities for unloading their shipments for sale and transfer to other markets in that city.
The marauder mayor of Asalouyeh had promised fishers to provide facilities and the right places for them after an increase in taxes more than two years ago. But actually not only no improvement has happened for these fisher, the extortionist mayor has raised the taxes even further and imposed more pressures on these fishers, a situation that has made lots of angry and frustrated fishers in that region.
