Iran: fearing protests, regime places armored vehicles outside Ministry of Labor on May Day

The Iranian regime on Thursday morning stationed armored vehicles outside the Ministry of Labor building in Tehran, along with many other security measures. Police units were placed in large numbers around various parts of Tehran near the Azadi metro station until Khush Avenue. Plainclothes and Bassij agents had filled all areas around Azadi Avenue. The regime even used armored vehicles and motor guards to control small alleys. Regime agents were also stationed on pedestrian bridges, controlling the situation from the above.
Despite a heavy security presence, around 1,000 workers and administrative employees from various companies such as Iran Khdrow, Arj Factory, simple construction workers, employees of the Tehran bus company and … rallied outside the Ministry of Labor. The regime’s repressive forces were not allowing any gatherings and a number of the workers were arrested by regime police forces.
