Iran: civil activist returned to prison

Vahed Kholusi, a Baha’i civil activist and college student deprived of higher education, has been transferred to ward 4 of Gohardasht Prison, websites reported. This human rights advocate was arrested on August 17, 2011 after receiving a written summoning and showing up at branch 3 of Evin prosecutor’s office, spending days in ward 2A supervised by the Revolutionary Guards in Evin Prison. He was then exiled to Gohardasht Prison.
The charges raised against him are assembly and collusion with the intent to carry out crimes against the country’s security, membership and being active in the Baha’i community, widespread advertising in this regard, and propaganda against the Islamic republic.
