Iran: At least 20 prisoners transferred for execution

Based on reports obtained by the “Human Rights and Democracy Activists in Iran”, on Sunday two groups of prisoners from Qezel Hesar Prison (in Karaj, west of Tehran) were transferred to solitary confinement in preparations for their execution.
The families of these prisoners gathered outside Qezel Heasar Prison on Monday morning demanding the execution verdict to be stopped.
Family members were told they can only meet their imprisoned loved ones until 12 noon on Monday, and the executions will begin Monday evening after 7 pm.
One of the prisoners to be executed is an Afghan citizen who was held for three years in Hall Number 4 of Qezel Hesar Prison. This hall is the location where Afghan prisoners are held and currently 110 of these inmates are on death row in this hall.
