A Patrol van stationed at the entrance to one of the crowded streets of Tehran aimed at stopping cars and harassing the so called “badly veiled women” on Tuesday Dec. 23 became the focus of a group of young Iranians in that neighborhood.
When the patrol car stopped a vehicle and started to harass its passengers that happened to be women, youth and other people in the vicinity reacted angrily. The agents of so called “Guidance Ministry” asked the women passengers to leave their car, after they had stopped that vehicle, but the women refused. This made the agents angry and tried to force the passengers physically to leave the car which led to clash with them.
People and youth who were witnessing the conflict approached the car and took the side of the passengers forcing the Guidance ministry agents to back off and leave the scene fearing reprisals.
