Political prisoner Ayat Mehr-Ali Biglu surpassed the 26th day of his hunger strike. He has been on hunger strike ever since 15 April 2014 protesting the threats, summoning, arresting and harassing families of political prisoners, along with exiling the political prisoners. Currently, a number of political prisoners in Tabriz Central Prison also went on hunger strike to support Ayat’s demands. He and 4 other inmates in Tabriz Central Prison were condemned on charges of forming an illegal group and propaganda against the system, each being sentenced to 9 years behind bars.
