Iran: 1 in every 5.7 marriages in Lorestan end in divorce

Jafar Badri, head of the Lorestan Province public prosecutor’s office, said recently in a Lorestan Province Public Culture Council session, “In this province 1 in every 5.7 marriages end in divorce. The number of divorces registered from March 2012 to March 2013 was 3,000 cases.” He added across Iran 1 in every 5 marriages end in divorce.
He cited drug addiction and poverty as the main reasons behind divorces.
