Huge demonstration in Iranian city of Ahvaz cracked down by security forces

NCRI – More than 5,000 residents of the southern Iranian city of Hamidiya were tear-gassed during a protest against the regime’s plans to destroy historical sites in the region.
Security forces attacked demonstrators during the mass gathering on Friday in Hamidiya, 25km from the Khuzistan provincial capital of Ahwaz.
Among the sites destined for demolition is the Sheikh Khazaal Palace, named after the local ruler until 1925.
