In an interview with the German daily Die Welt, Mohammed ElBaradei, General Director of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said: “The Iranian regime is after acquiring nuclear weapon technology.”

El Baradei added: “What the IAEA has obtained so far regarding Iran has been pure failure; we have not gone forward even an inch; we have got nothing but a few approved resolutions in the UN Security Council.”

He said: “The Iranian regime thinks acquiring nuclear technology would bring it power, prestige and influence, and that is why it is after acquiring that technology.”
