The prominent al-Azhar University of Egypt issued a statement condemning the destruction of a Sunni mosque in Tehran’s Ponak district, describing it as an act in violation of all principles, morals and values in our modern world.
Al-Azhar University emphasized such measure will lead to increasing sectarianism and ignite sedition and sectarian clashes amongst the followers of one united religion.
This act has displeased all Muslims across the globe, al-Azhar stipulated, and demanded investigations to reveal the truth regarding these criminal measures.
