Dire conditions in earthquake hit areas remains top news in Iran

Eleven days after the deadly twin quakes that devastated Iran’s northwestern regions, the deteriorating conditions of the area’s residents and the mullahs’ inhumane measures continue to be the most important issue in Iran.
While people are suffering from the lack of basic necessities, the state-run Asr-e Iran daily cited the head of the mullahs’ Red Crescent issuing new statistics and admitting, “276 villages have suffered 20 to 100% damages and 46 villages have been completely annihilated. This is while early rain and cold weather is the main concern of the earthquake survivors.”
Recalling the material and financial assistance received, including those of 7 foreign countries for the earthquake survivors, the regime’s Red Crescent chief also admitted to theft and even these received material goods being sold in the black market by the regime’s own officials.
“In crisis situations these things always happen by those who seek to make a profit…” he said.
Another state-run media outlet published an article entitled “The untold stories of the East Azerbaijan quake” and wrote: “Following the earthquake, all of a sudden the region became completely silent, then turning into an inferno of screams and shrieks. When the sun went down and the night’s darkness and terror set in, emergency units had yet to enter the scene and people weren’t able to do much with their bare hands, lacking tools or equipment.”
