
In a statement, 10 representatives of the British House of Commons expressed their deep concern over increasing suppression of student activists in Iran who “protest against dictatorship and social justice”.
In their statement which its number of signatories is increasing, the representatives reminded the arrest of about 30 students and other activists, and asked for the release of student activists.
They asked the British government to exert pressure on the Iranian regime to respect the basic human rights and the respective international covenants and standards.
In another statement signed by 15 members of the House of Commons, the execution of Makwan Mouloudzadeh who was 13 yr old at the time of alleged committed crime is condemned.
The House of Commons representatives asserted in this statement: The Iranian regime has approved the Treaty of Civil and Political Rights and the Convention of Children’s Rights, and both treaties prohibit execution for crimes committed under the age of 18.”
