The crisis in the regime’s leadership has intensified with Ahmadinejad’s statement regarding the parliament bill to change presidential election laws. According to the state-affiliated news agency Ahmadinejad said: “The president is elected with the direct vote of the people and has the votes of 50 plus 1 percent of the people, yet the representatives who make it to the Majlis with the minimum votes of the people cannot limit the actions of the president.” “Some people think if they restrain the people they will keep their posts, but that’s not how it works.”
According to other reports, Ahmadinejad attacked the regime’s supreme leader and said that even the supreme leader doesn’t depend on the people’s vote.
