The Reporters Without Borders Organization emphasized in its annual report that despite the promises of Hassan Rouhani about political openness, more than half of the imprisoned reporters have been arrested during Hassan Rouhani’s presidency and most of the reporters who were imprisoned before his election are still in prison.
This organization announced in its annual report, which was published on Wednesday, 18 December, that 76 reporters are in prison, 42 of which have been arrested after Rouhani’s election.
The report also announced that 17 of the arrested reporters in the current year have been given 1 to 9 year imprisonment sentences.
