Khomeini’s death

On June 3, 1989, Khomeini, the anti-human, died. Rouhollah Khomeini was born 1900 in Khomein, Iranian central city. His father Mostafa, the son of Ahmad Hendi lived in Kashmir of India. Until the age of 60, Khomeini was not involved in political affairs; he entered into politics in 1962 when he opposed Shah from a reactionary stance. His main objection to Shah was giving right to the Iranian women for voting; therefore Shah imposed some limitations on him. In 1964, Khomeini was exiled to Turkey and later to Najaf where he continued his ordinary life.

In 1977, with the uprisings of the Iranian people, Khomeini took the opportunity and entered the political scene once again.

At that time all democratic opposition leaders had by then been either executed or imprisoned and could exert little influence on the trend of events. Khomeini and his network of mullahs across the country, who had by and large been spared the wrath of SAVAK, were the only force that remained intact and could take advantage of the political vacuum. In France, Khomeini received maximum exposure to the world media and assistance from the French government. With the aid of his clerical followers, he hijacked a revolution that began with calls for democracy and freedom and diverted it towards his fundamentalist goals. Through an exceptional combination of historical events, Shiite clerics assumed power in Iran.

During 10 years of his infamous rule on the Iranian society, Khomeini ordered for the execution of 120,000 political prisoners from the PMOI and other groups on charge of freedom-loving. During his reign the eight year Iran-Iraq inflicted over one thousand billion dollars of damage to the people and national economy as well as more than 2 millions killed and injured only on Iran’s side. In addition, he left more than 80 per cent of the Iranian people below poverty line.

Khomeini left his name as the most hated dictator of contemporary history. His follower continued his path in destroying the country and export of terrorism and fundamentalism abroad.
