On August 4, 1993, following a series of meetings of the Central Council of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI), a big gathering of thousands of the PMOI members was held to introduce the newly elected PMOI’s Leadership Council.

In this gathering that was held with the presence of the Resistance leadership (Massoud and Maryam Rajavi), 12 PMOI female officials were unanimously elected as the most competent PMOI officials for membership in the PMOI’s Leadership Council and 12 others as the candidates for that Council.

The number of the PMOI’s Leadership Council has been continuously increasing in the following years.
