On August 6, 1945, City of Hiroshima in Japan was targeted by a nuclear bomb and was destroyed.

Hiroshima had 200,000 residents, 90,000 of whom were killed in this bombing and 75,000 injured.
Three days later, on August 9, another bomb, more powerful than the first, was dropped on Nagasaki, killing about 39,000 people and injuring about 25,000 others.
