Ziad Ahmad, member of the Diyala Provincial Council called on the United Nations to assume the protection of Camp Ashraf.
“Time and again we have reiterated that the UN must assume the subject of Camp Ashraf affiliated to Iranian refugees through a solution suitable for both parties, or by providing a safe location for them outside Iraq or assuming their protection and guaranteeing their well-being inside Iraq,” Azzaman daily cited this member of the Diyala Provincial Council as saying.
“Without taking into consideration any political observation, the humanitarian aspect of the issue must be stressed and Ashraf residents should be treated humanely and far from violence,” Ziad Ahmad added.
