Turkish Ambassador to the US Namik Tan announced his country is determined to prevent the Iranian regime from obtaining nuclear weapons, the Christian Science Monitor reported.
Speaking with the media in Washington, the Turkish envoy said his country as Iran’s neighbor is much more determined than countries that are distanced from Iran. Tan added Turkey intends to prevent the Iranian regime from going nuclear and Ankara’s relations with Tehran have deteriorated on this very subject. Turkey will never accept a nuclear bomb in the hands of one of its neighbors, the Turkish envoy added. In fact, it will stand against a nuclear regime in Iran.
Turkey has stopped nuclear related shipments destined to Iran, Tan continued.
