CNN reported that the students demonstrated on Sunday for the second time in less than a week. That was not the first time that the students demonstrated but the dimensions of the demonstration were more extensive. This was one of the most extensive students’ demonstrations in recent months. This demonstration took place against the Iranian President. They (demonstrators) compared Ahmadinejad with the Chilean former dictator Augusto Pinochet. They also defended women’s rights. Their banners read: “women must decide their fate”.

The demonstrators were also asking the release of the detained students.
CNN reporter added that the students broke the University’s main gate so as the other students being outside the university could enter. That was a great moment for the students. This was a significant day for the student movement.
