On January 9, 1852, Amir Kabir, the Iranian Prime Minister was murdered by Nasereddin Shah’s executioners in in Kashan.
During his three years and some months of premiership, Mirza Taghikhan Amir Kabir carried out numerous measures along with reforms in the Iranian society’s political and cultural structure including foundation of the national industry and establishing several factories like glass wares, textile as well as construction of transportation roads, setting up an orderly postal service and public health measures like pubic vaccination of pox.
Moreover, Amir Kabir regularized the government administration and the king’s court, and founded the Iranian new culture by establishment of Darolfonoun High School and publication of the daily Vaqaye’ Ettefaqiyeh, the first Iranian newspaper.
But his opponents, whose interests were endangered by his reforms, planned an evil conspiracy in cooperation with the corrupt Qajar dynasty court and foreign colonialism and internal reactionary mullahs like Mirza Abolqassem , Tehran Friday prayer’s Imam, to dismiss and kill him. Therefore, first by the instigation of Nasereddin Shah and by his order, Amir Kabir was first dismissed of Premiership and exiled him to Kashan and after 40 days was killed in Feen Garden bathroom in that city.
